Thermal Designs began in 1980 with the goal of providing the best quality, custom shading systems for the sunroom and solarium markets. A true garage shop story, we started with making energy efficient roman shades sold locally to residences which quickly evolved into the sunroom systems we still offer today.
Today we remain a small, family run business and we fabricate your custom sunroom shade systems exclusively in our shop in Boulder, Colorado, USA

Thermal Designs shades are made of the finest, durable acrylic and screen fabrics with a wide range of colors and densities to choose from.
Our material selection is sourced from the best indoor and outdoor fabrics. These include soft and durable Sunbrella marine fabrics and Sheerweave screen by Phifer. These fabrics offer numerous colors and screen densities. The choice of fabrics gives you the ability to control the amount of privacy, light block and heat control. Our insulated shades use Thinsulate lining to help keep your room warmer during winter months and cooler in the summer.
